Waitlist referral rewards terms.
TapPay Limited · Waitlist Referral Rewards Campaign · Terms and Conditions
1. Acceptance of these Terms
These Terms and Conditions govern participation in the TapPay Federal Waitlist Referral Rewards Campaign (“Campaign”).
By joining the TapPay waitlist, confirming your email address, sharing your unique referral link, or participating in any part of the Campaign, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted these Terms and Conditions.
Participants must comply with these Terms, TapPay’s Privacy Policy, applicable platform rules and all applicable laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not participate in the referral rewards programme.
2. Eligibility and Registration
Participation is open to eligible individuals who successfully register on the official TapPay waitlist and confirm their email address using the verification process provided.
Participants must provide accurate, valid and current registration information. TapPay may require additional verification where reasonably necessary to establish eligibility, prevent fraud or comply with applicable law.
Each participant may maintain only one personal campaign account. Duplicate accounts, fabricated identities, disposable or manipulated registrations, and attempts to circumvent campaign controls may result in disqualification.
A confirmed waitlist registration establishes eligibility to participate in the referral campaign; it does not, by itself, constitute an entitlement to redeemable reward points.
TapPay may exclude any participant who is reasonably suspected of fraud, abuse, manipulation or material non-compliance with these Terms, subject to applicable law.
3. How the Referral Programme Works
After joining the waitlist and confirming their email address, participants may access or receive a unique referral link or referral code.
Participants may share their referral links with as many genuine prospective users as they wish, subject to these Terms. There is no fixed maximum number of referrals.
A referral will be treated as successful for reward purposes only when the referred individual has completed all of the following steps:
- Registered on the official TapPay waitlist using the participant’s valid referral link or code.
- Confirmed their email address.
- Downloaded and registered on the official TapPay application after its release.
- Completed any required identity verification and eligibility checks.
- Successfully added money to their TapPay balance in accordance with the qualifying funding requirements published for the Campaign.
- Had the relevant activity validated by TapPay’s referral tracking and fraud-prevention systems.
A waitlist registration, email confirmation, app download or unsuccessful funding attempt alone does not constitute a completed qualifying referral.
A referral will not be credited to a participant if the referred individual cannot be reliably attributed to that participant’s valid referral link or code, unless TapPay confirms an alternative attribution method in writing.
Participants must not misrepresent the Campaign, promise rewards that TapPay has not announced, impersonate TapPay representatives or make misleading claims about the application, its services or the value of its rewards.
4. Reward Points and Qualification Threshold
The standard referral reward is:
| Requirement | 10 successfully completed qualifying referrals |
|---|---|
| Reward | 500 TapPay Reward Points |
| Airtime/data redemption value of 500 points | ₦200 equivalent |
| Implied value per point | ₦0.40 equivalent |
To earn the 500-point reward, all 10 referred individuals must independently satisfy every qualifying referral requirement in Section 3. A participant will not qualify merely by referring 10 people who register on the waitlist.
The reward is calculated using validated qualifying referrals, not the raw number of people who click a link, register, confirm an email or download the application.
Participants may continue referring people after reaching the first 10-referral threshold. Additional rewards will accrue in blocks of 10 validated qualifying referrals, with each complete block earning 500 points.
Unless TapPay announces a different calculation in writing before the relevant activity, incomplete blocks do not earn partial rewards. For example, 19 qualifying referrals earn 500 points, while 20 qualifying referrals earn 1,000 points.
A single referred user may count towards only one participant’s referral total. Self-referrals, duplicate identities and referrals generated through artificial or coordinated account creation do not qualify.
TapPay will publish the minimum qualifying amount that a referred user must add to their balance before the Campaign begins. That amount, together with any restrictions on qualifying funding methods, must be clearly disclosed in the official campaign materials. Funding that is reversed, fraudulent, disputed or otherwise invalidated may be excluded from the qualifying count.
5. When Rewards Are Credited
Referral points will not become redeemable merely because a participant has joined the waitlist or confirmed their email.
After the TapPay application launches, participants must complete the applicable campaign requirements, and the referred users must complete the qualifying actions described in Section 3.
TapPay will validate eligible referrals and credit the corresponding points within the processing period announced in the official Campaign materials. If no processing period is published, participants may contact TapPay through its official support channels for clarification.
Points may remain pending while TapPay checks referral attribution, account authenticity, qualifying funding, duplicate activity, reversals or suspected abuse.
TapPay will make reasonable efforts to display or communicate referral progress accurately. A displayed referral count is not conclusive evidence of eligibility where the underlying activity has not passed validation.
6. Permitted Use and Redemption of Points
TapPay Reward Points are promotional benefits issued under this Campaign. They are not cash, legal tender, a bank deposit, an investment, or a transferable monetary balance.
Points may be redeemed only within the TapPay ecosystem for eligible airtime and mobile data purchases made available through the application.
Points cannot be withdrawn as cash, transferred to a bank account, exchanged for cash, used to fund a wallet, used to pay for electricity or other services unless TapPay expressly adds those services to the rewards programme, or redeemed outside the permitted TapPay ecosystem.
The advertised ₦200 equivalent applies to 500 points when redeemed for eligible airtime and data purchases, subject to the available denominations, participating networks, transaction limits and redemption interface displayed in the application.
Points cannot be sold, auctioned, pledged, assigned, transferred between users or combined across unrelated accounts unless TapPay expressly authorises such a feature in writing.
Points have no guaranteed cash value and cannot be exchanged for money. Any applicable validity period, expiry rules or redemption restrictions must be disclosed to participants before they earn or redeem points.
TapPay may reject or reverse a redemption resulting from a proven error, duplicate credit, fraud or breach of these Terms, subject to applicable law and any applicable consumer rights.
7. Prohibited Referral Activities
Participants must promote TapPay honestly and must not engage in any activity intended to artificially increase referral counts or obtain rewards improperly.
The following activities are prohibited:
- Creating multiple accounts or using false identities, fabricated email addresses or disposable accounts to generate referrals.
- Referring oneself through alternative email addresses, devices or accounts.
- Using bots, scripts, automated registrations, click farms or other artificial traffic-generation methods.
- Buying, selling, renting or exchanging referral accounts or referral links for artificial engagement.
- Manipulating devices, IP addresses, application installations, funding transactions or other technical identifiers to bypass campaign controls.
- Using unsolicited bulk messages, deceptive advertising, impersonation or misleading statements to solicit referrals.
- Funding an account through stolen funds, unauthorised payment methods or other fraudulent means.
- Reversing, disputing or attempting to recover qualifying funds improperly after using them to trigger a reward.
- Colluding with other participants to fabricate qualifying activity or claim duplicate rewards.
Participants must not require referred individuals to surrender passwords, one-time passwords (OTPs), PINs, payment credentials or other confidential security information in exchange for a referral.
